1. Quick wins (no visual loss)
Start here. Each one adds a little, but together they give +9% free FPS.
Motion Blur
Rebirth's motion blur barely adds anything to reading the action, and instead adds a processing layer that hurts framerate in chases and fast combat. Disabling it also improves sharpness during ATB combos.
Depth of Field
Depth of field is noticeable mostly in dialogue and exploration, but its cost doesn't pay off in open zones with lots of vegetation, where the engine already has plenty to manage. Turning it off restores sharpness to the backgrounds of the Grasslands and Gongaga.
Chromatic Aberration
It's a purely aesthetic effect inherited from the remake trilogy's visual style, with no real relation to performance beyond a minimal post-processing cost. It's disabled almost always out of visual preference rather than for FPS.
Film Grain

Shadow Quality
Dynamic shadows are among the most demanding elements for UE4's engine in open scenes with multiple light sources and characters on screen. Dropping from Ultra to Medium noticeably reduces stutter in summon fights without losing the regions' atmosphere.
Global Illumination
Global illumination calculates real-time light bounce across the whole map, something especially costly in Rebirth's massive outdoor zones. Dropping it to Medium keeps believable lighting in interiors and villages while freeing up a decent performance margin outdoors.
Effects Quality

Intel XeSS
+30% FPSXeSS is the alternative for Intel Arc GPUs and also runs on cards from other brands, with image quality somewhere between DLSS and FSR. It's a valid option if you don't have recent NVIDIA or AMD hardware.
