Valorant FPS with a GTX 950 and a Intel Core i5-13400
| Quality | 1080p (Full HD) | 1440p (2K) | 4K (Ultra HD) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ultra | 39FPS min 34Acceptable | 20FPS min 18Poor | 5FPS min 4Unplayable |
| High | 50FPS min 44Acceptable | 27FPS min 24Poor | 7FPS min 6Unplayable |
| Medium | 66FPS min 58Good | 35FPS min 31Acceptable | 9FPS min 8Unplayable |
| Low | 85FPS min 75Good | 45FPS min 40Acceptable | 12FPS min 11Unplayable |
| Bottleneck (estimated) | GPU 38% | GPU 67% | GPU 92% |
The percentage estimates how much of the stronger component's capability goes unused because of the other one.
This one does matter: from the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 downwards the processor becomes the brake on the GTX 950. There is 8% between the slowest and fastest CPU in the table. One caveat: this is at 1080p, where the CPU weighs most. At 1440p and 4K the graphics card takes over and the processor stops mattering.
FSR performance: FPS with AI upscaling
Upscaling renders Valorant at a lower internal resolution and reconstructs the image, so you trade a little sharpness for extra frames. These are the estimated figures for the GTX 950 with FSR enabled, starting from its native Ultra FPS.
| Resolution | Native | FSR Quality | FSR Performance |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1080p | 39 | 49 | 57 |
| 1440p | 20 | 27 | 33 |
| 4K | 5 | 7 | 9 |
About ray tracing: every figure on this page is with ray tracing off. The GTX 950 has no dedicated hardware for it, so it is an option best left disabled.

Is the CPU or the graphics card holding you back?
These FPS assume a mid-range CPU that isn't a bottleneck — roughly a Intel Core i5-13400 — and 16 GB of RAM.
Here the graphics card is the brake: the GTX 950 is what caps the frame rate in Valorant. A faster processor would hardly change the result.
Is the GTX 950 Enough for Valorant?
The GTX 950 delivers 39 FPS at 1080p Ultra in Valorant. Performance is acceptable but not ideal. Consider lowering the resolution or quality.
At 1440p it gets 20 FPS and at 4K 5 FPS at Ultra quality.
This GPU does not reach 60 FPS at 1080p Ultra
