Cookie Policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites store on a user's browser when they visit a web page. They allow the site to remember information about the visit, such as language preferences, session data, or other configuration options. Cookies may be set by the website itself (first-party cookies) or by third-party services integrated into the page. The use of cookies is regulated under Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) and the EU ePrivacy Directive.

Cookies we use

Currently, checkfps.io uses the following cookies: (1) cookie-consent — A first-party, technical cookie with a duration of 1 year, which stores the user's cookie consent preference. (2) NEXT_LOCALE — A first-party, technical cookie with a duration of 1 year, which stores the user's language preference. In the future, we may implement analytics cookies from Google Analytics (_ga, with a duration of 2 years, and _gid, with a duration of 24 hours) to analyze site usage, as well as advertising cookies from Google AdSense. If new cookies are introduced, this policy will be updated and the corresponding consent will be requested.

Types of cookies

Cookies are classified according to various criteria. By origin, they may be first-party (set by the domain of the website visited) or third-party (set by a different domain). By purpose, they may be technical (necessary for the site to function), analytical (used to measure and analyze user navigation), or advertising (used to manage advertising displayed on the site). By duration, they may be session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (remain for a specified period). Currently, checkfps.io only uses first-party, technical, persistent cookies.

How to manage cookies

Users can manage and delete cookies at any time through their browser settings. Instructions vary depending on the browser used: in Google Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data; in Mozilla Firefox, go to Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data; in Safari, go to Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data; in Microsoft Edge, go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions. Please note that disabling or deleting technical cookies may affect the proper functioning of the website and the browsing experience.

Consent

When visiting checkfps.io for the first time, an informational banner about cookies is displayed, allowing the user to accept or reject their installation. The user may modify their consent at any time by deleting cookies from their browser settings or by contacting us. The legal basis for technical cookies is the legitimate interest of the controller to ensure the proper functioning of the site. Analytical and advertising cookies, if implemented, will require the user's prior consent.

CheckFPS reserves the right to modify this Cookie Policy at any time to adapt it to legislative changes, case law developments, or industry practices. Any substantial changes will be communicated through the website. We recommend that users periodically review this policy to stay informed about how we protect their information.
